case study: research on news platforms

News is a piece of information institutions which provide to the world. The need for this is to make the people aware of what’s happening around them and the environment they live in. This process involves a lot of the media and promotion. News is broadcasted on a number of different platforms such as TV, radio, internet and newspaper.
Internet: The online world is very popular among younger generations because of the ease of access and the general excitement of being on a website. For instance news could be presented online via web advertisements on the side or WebPages designed to catch the attention of viewers by the stories they broadcast.
Radio: the radio is most appealing to the older generation because it has been around for a long time and people who tend to use the radio to update themselves feel more comfortable listening to the news rather than hearing it on the internet or television.
Newspaper: newspapers are also a popular choice for older people because they have been around for so long and have turned into the normal way of finding out about what is going on around the world. Also it’s much easier to update yourself by reading the newspaper because its so quick for instance the newspapers which get passed around on public transport.
Television: The use of televised programs in people’s homes has exploded in the recent years and is seen as the most contemporary way of updating yourself with new. News is reported on channels for instance BBC news 24 is a 24 hour channel which provides news to people all day around.  Also after popular soaps and films there are various news corporations which provide quick 60 second updates for example on bbc three after watching a series of programs there is a short and insightful update into the world around us.
